Risk Executive
Our clients is an Electronic Money Institution based in Malta.
The Risk Executive plays a critical role in supporting the Business Risk Manager in implementing and maintaining effective risk management practices. This position involves assisting in the development, execution, and monitoring of the risk management framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to industry best practices. The Risk Executive collaborates with various teams, provides guidance on operational risk principles, and contributes to fostering a robust risk management culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework.
- Manage the team’s internal control testing program.
- Support the drafting and maintenance of risk-related policies and procedures.
- Assist in overseeing and monitoring the implementation of risk-related policies and procedures across the organization.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports, offering both quantitative and qualitative insights.
- Monitor key risk and early warning indicators.
- Stay informed about the evolving regulatory landscape.
- Periodically review and update risk management practices in response to changes in organizational needs, laws, and policies.
- Investigate and address risk-related matters, including drafting incident post-mortem reports with recommendations for remedial actions.
- Maintain a comprehensive risk and control register.
- Conduct risk assessments of third-party providers.
- Review websites, processes, procedures, client-facing content, and partner contracts from a risk perspective.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Management Framework.
- Support the maintenance and testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with the Business Risk Manager to provide guidance and training to the Board of Directors, senior management, and employees.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of ICT risk management best practices or familiarity with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is considered an asset.
