Business Systems Analyst
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their global, multidisciplinary team. This role involves analyzing and developing business operations, understanding client requirements, creating detailed documentation, estimating project costs, and establishing system protocols. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for configuring, testing, delivering, and implementing software enhancements and new functionalities for both existing and prospective clients. The role also includes providing ongoing support by examining current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending updated procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business process analysis and extensive experience with business systems analysis techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret client requirements in relation to existing software systems.
- Conduct gap analysis to compare new requirements against current system functionality.
- Develop detailed use cases based on client needs.
- Support project and change delivery by managing client release schedules and service requests in accordance with SLAs.
- Take full ownership of assigned tasks while ensuring adherence to SLAs and quality benchmarks.
- Serve as a primary contact for clients through email, teleconferencing, and on-site workshops to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Document high-level test cases to aid the QA team in developing functional and regression test cases as well as acceptance criteria.
- Review detailed test cases with the QA team to ensure alignment with client requirements and provide end-user representation during UAT.
- Produce clear specifications that lead to accurate acceptance criteria and high-level test cases.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project, change management, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet client specifications.
- Assist technical teams in crafting optimal use cases and effective database designs.
- Deliver software releases to clients and provide support throughout implementation phases.
- Provide on-site training and support upon client request.
- Facilitate data migration to and from the software systems.
- Offer second-line support to clients and internal support teams, aligned with SLAs.
- Participate in 24x7 shift rotations as required to provide second-line client support.
- Coordinate with the QA team to perform audits, recommend corrective actions, and monitor outcomes.
- Maintain regular status reports on assigned tasks.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients and team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Advanced diploma in ICT, or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Software Development, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business with IT; a Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role involving business requirements gathering and system configuration.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced in documenting business requirements and system specifications.
- Skilled in facilitating both remote and in-person client meetings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with the financial services or payments industry is preferred.
- Experience with user stories or use cases is an advantage.
