MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, maintain, and oversee a database environment that is both highly available and high performing.
• Define, plan, implement, and drive database performance best practices.
• Participate in planning, maintenance, and execution of all aspects of database disaster recovery.
• Manage database security and user access across database technologies.
• Configure and maintain database servers in the cloud using AWS.
• Diagnose and resolve issues rapidly to ensure minimal downtime.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation and technical specifications.

INFORMATION LINKS AND RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports directly to the Database Team Leader.
• Collaborates effectively across departments, ensuring strong interpersonal relationships with stakeholders throughout the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience working as a Microsoft SQL DBA in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with MS SQL database platforms.
• Strong understanding of server, network, and application security.
• Knowledge of database engine architecture.
• Experience with High Availability, Replication, and Clustering technologies, including AlwaysOn groups.
• Solid technical understanding of infrastructure and database design.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB databases.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
