CAMO Manager
Our client is seeking a CAMO Manager, who will act as the nominated post holder responsible for ensuring the continued airworthiness of the aircraft operated by the organisation. The role ensures that all maintenance and airworthiness activities are completed on schedule, in full compliance with EASA regulations, and in accordance with legal and safety standards. The position also includes serving as Technical Director for the company’s aircraft leasing division.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that defects and damages affecting safe operations are rectified according to approved standards.
- Establish and develop the continuing airworthiness policy, including approval of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMPs).
- Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme.
- Ensure all maintenance is carried out on time, to approved standards, and in line with the Aircraft Maintenance Programme.
- Ensure compliance with all Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and other continuing airworthiness requirements mandated by EASA.
- Maintain compliance with the AOC conditions and restrictions, applicable regulatory requirements, and company standards.
- Ensure all modifications are completed to approved standards and establish policies for non-mandatory modifications and service information issued by aircraft, engine, and component manufacturers.
- Ensure the Certificate of Airworthiness for each aircraft remains valid at all times.
- Oversee the procurement, repair, certification, and traceability of components and parts in accordance with approved data and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the procurement and distribution of supplies and spare parts to support operational requirements and timely defect rectifications in line with MEL provisions.
- Ensure that supervised personnel are competent, appropriately trained, and maintain skills through ongoing development.
- Maintain and obtain approval for the CAME (Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition), detailing the organisation’s structure, management responsibilities, procedures, and compliance functions.
- Manage relationships with Part 145 maintenance contractors, including establishing and overseeing maintenance contracts.
- Ensure CAA approval for the Aircraft Technical Log and its amendments.
- Safeguard aircraft technical records against fire, flood, and theft.
- Report maintenance-related occurrences to the CAA and aircraft manufacturers, including mandatory and non-mandatory events.
- Review and implement any additional CAA national requirements, as applicable.
- Oversee the overall functioning of the Continuing Airworthiness Management Department, ensuring coordination in complex maintenance and operational setups.
- Fulfil all duties and responsibilities as described in the company’s CAME.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic, or related field).
- Alternatively, an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education acceptable to the competent authority.
Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience, including at least 2 years within the aeronautical industry in an appropriate role.
- Practical expertise in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of: Relevant operational requirements and procedures. AOC holder’s operations specifications. The content and importance of the Operations Manual.
- Strong understanding of EASA and CAA continuing airworthiness regulations.
- Knowledge of quality systems and compliance processes.
- Proven experience managing teams and maintaining accountability for airworthiness oversight.

- Familiarity with aviation management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Maltese proficiency is a plus.

- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to operate effectively under pressure.
