Our client, an airline, is looking for a Tax Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will work within a close-knit team to provide guidance on tax obligations and implications arising from wider business transactions, while also assisting with audits and coordinating third-party vendors.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support and guidance on local Maltese corporate and employment tax matters impacting the wider Group

• Prepare corporate tax provisions for Malta-based Group entities

• Assist in analysing potential jurisdictions and bases for Group expansion

• Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities

• Support direct and indirect tax compliance across the wider Group

• Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation

• Support tax audits in various jurisdictions

• Complete tax-related projects as assigned by the Group Tax Management team

• Support the Group Tax team in the implementation of tax strategy

• Participate in ad hoc projects as required

Requirements

• Strong understanding of finance, tax, and accounting principles

• Qualified tax professional with demonstrable experience in international taxation

• Professional tax qualification with a minimum of 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably gained in a large accountancy firm or PLC environment

• University degree in finance, accounting, and/or tax

• Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of initiative, strong interpersonal abilities, and excellent communication skills

• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Italian, French, or German is considered an advantage

• Ability to learn quickly and remain up to date with developments in international tax policy

• Previous experience in the aviation industry is considered an advantage

• Motivated, reliable, and adaptable team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving

• Willingness to travel when required
