Auditor / Senior Auditor

Our client is a leading professional services firm in Malta providing audit, tax, advisory, and business consulting services as part of a global network.
Due to continuous investment and growth, our client is seeking to recruit an Auditor or Senior Auditor to join its Audit & Assurance team.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to an international environment with excellent career progression prospects and ongoing professional development. The team provides services to companies operating globally, ranging from mid-sized entities to public listed companies across a wide range of industries.
The level of responsibility and autonomy will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Completing small audits with minimal supervision;
Acting as in-charge on larger audit engagements (for more experienced candidates) and overseeing the work performed by junior team members to ensure compliance with the firm’s audit methodology;
Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements in line with professional standards and risk considerations;
Applying relevant standards and regulations, including IFRS, GAPSME, ISA, and the Companies Act;
Monitoring engagement progress against plan and adjusting where necessary;
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with clients and ensuring client satisfaction in terms of quality and delivery;
Effectively utilising audit technology tools and firm-standard software to enhance service delivery;
Communicating ideas, opinions, and information clearly within the audit team and responding constructively to team members’ views;
Fostering an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment;
Demonstrating project management skills and effectively managing time across multiple engagements;
Developing an understanding of client industries and identifying value-added recommendations;
Assisting Managers and Partners in reviewing audit work and financial statements;
Referring ethical, independence, and conflict issues to the Manager or Partner as appropriate;
Being conscious of professional liability and maintaining high ethical standards;
Undertaking any other tasks reasonably assigned within the individual’s skill set.
Knowledge & Skills
Previous experience in audit (2–3 years’ experience required for Senior Auditor level);
ACCA qualification or equivalent (or currently in the process of obtaining ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent qualification);
Strong understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks;
Fluent in English (Maltese would be considered an asset);
Strong communication skills and self-motivated approach;
Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
