Credit Manager

The Credit Manager plays a key role in maintaining and enforcing credit policies, overseeing the credit approval process, and ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for managing credit operations, supporting business growth while maintaining strong risk control, and leading the credit team to deliver consistent and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the credit function, ensuring efficient handling of client inquiries, approvals, and disputes.
Lead and develop the credit team, setting clear objectives aligned with the organisation’s financial and strategic goals.
Oversee the credit approval and due diligence process, ensuring strong credit quality and adherence to internal policies.
Monitor and manage the credit portfolio, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and conducting regular risk assessments.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g. sales, compliance, and operations) to ensure consistent approaches to client service and risk management.
Analyse market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory developments to inform credit strategies and policy adjustments.
Prepare and review credit reports, including portfolio analysis and stress testing where required.
Develop and refine credit policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with regulatory standards and best practices.
Oversee regulatory reporting and ensure full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Participate in internal committees, providing insights on credit risk and portfolio performance.
Support the adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance credit assessment and operational efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit management or a related role within banking or financial services.
Proven experience in managing credit processes and leading teams.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
